The Brief

The problem > The solution > My role in the project > The final product

The DMCoke website is an online catalogue of a wide range of branded Coca-Cola and Bacardi&Coke products, distributed to European branches of the Coca-Cola Corporation. The general distributor of these products is Dynamic Merchandise, based in the UK.

The problem

Originally the Coca-Cola employees, spread out from Russia to Portugal, would physically search through a printed catalogue for the required item and place an order over the telephone. Dynamic Merchandise approached Rounddot seeking advice on the way the ordering process could be automated online and improved.

The solution

The DMCoke is a Multilanguage e-commerce application that is both simple and easy to use. Developed in .net, XHTML and CSS the website is fast, reliable and accessible on any browser available today. The user-oriented interface simplifies the entire ordering process to a few clicks, which significantly reduces time and resources that would have been taken to place an order.

My role in the project

During the Discovery and Design phase I carried out the Competitive Analisys, co-authored the site mapping, wireframing and information architecting of the website and designed the user interface.

At the very latest stage I took responsibility over the CSS development, conducted Quality Assurance tests and bug fixing. Also I have played the role of web development team leader as well as been involved in client-facing and project management duties on a daily basis.

Request a quote

The client is not actually placing the order and there is no card transaction at this stage. The catalogue's user is requesting the quote, tailored to his location in Europe. The pending order is subsequently processed in a custom made admin system, accessible by Dynamic Merchandise staff.
